Many parents worry that their very active, strong- willed, and inattentive preschool child may have ADD/HD. It is often difficult to determine, at this young age, whether the child is active because he/she is a preschooler, has a more difficult temperament or is pre-ADD/HD. Parents with young elementary school-age children who are diagnosed with ADD/HD, have questions and often need support and ideas for enhancing their child’s potential and understanding what ADD/HD is all about. This class will cover criteria for ADD/HD, understanding the difference between ADD/HD and children with difficult temperaments, how/where to have your child assessed, and the positives about children with ADD/HD.

Children “on the move”, diagnosed with ADD/HD, and with the need to constantly be busy, are often difficult for parents to handle.These children frequently need more consistent discipline and ideas that work for them.Easy children are easy to parent; difficult children take patience, an array of tools, positive communication and lots of creativity to parent. This class will offer tools for parents that work for energetic and spirited children, without threatening, yelling, or arguing!!!
